Interesting and Controversial

Friday, December 17, 2010 1
I've been quite fond of conspiracy theories lately and this brought me to stumble upon tons and tons of articles which, by the way, sometimes prompt my jaw to drop on the ground, make my eyes pop 100 meters away from their orifices, and worse... create more chaos in my already tumultuous brain. But, nevertheless, it has been quite a fun ride. Roller Coaster ride... really.. well, pretty much.

Symbolism.. Esoteric and Subliminal messages.. they are everywhere. That's what most conspiracy theorists say.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This particular post from cuttindedge.org smites me the most. Primarily because I'm a Roman Catholic.

...let us show a picture of St. Peter's Basilica without the throngs of people, for the people standing around this obelisk are standing on a most damning piece of Satanic symbolism, thus hiding it quite well. They are standing on a circle surrounding the obelisk; further, this circle is divided into eight (8) sections with the obelisk in the middle. Study this carefully until you get it clearly in your mind.
As you examine this picture, you will realize that this obelisk is sitting in the middle of what looks like an 8-spoke wagon wheel. What does this symbolize? Let us begin just with the 8-spoke wagon wheel, pictured above. God Himself has defined Paganism as "worshipping the Creature rather than the Creator" [Romans 1:25], and He is right on the money. Demons are constantly trying to get men to worship something other than the One True God. They have been successful in getting man to worship Nature, Animals, Trees, Bees, Birds, Reptiles, the Sun, the Stars, and just about everything God has ever made. But, the easiest thing to get man to worship is sex . This is why Satanists created the 8-Fold Path to Enlightenment, with the circle in the middle. This circle represents the female vulva in their occult spiritual teaching.
The obelisk was created by the demon Prince of Egypt, one of the most powerful demons in Hell. He whispered in the mind of the Egyptian leaders that the Spirit of their Sun God, Ra, resided within the obelisk. The Egyptians were told to "face the obelisk" at least once per day, and thrice if possible. The obelisk is the perfect symbol of the erect Male phallus.
Thus, the obelisk was the Male phallus, while the circle represented the Female vulva. Whenever Satanists wanted to represent the Great Sex Act, they merely inserted the phallus of the obelisk into the vulva of the circle. It was slick and it was easy. Thus, Roman Catholics have created a Satanic depiction of the Great Sex Act in St. Peter's Basilica! The Pope and everyone in the Vatican can "face the obelisk" at least once per day, and thrice if possible! Every time the Pope speaks to the adoring faithful, he is "facing the obelisk", paying homage to the Great Sex Act!
One of the most interesting ironies of all time is that the institution that promotes religious celibacy the most is the same institution that has set up the Satanic Great Sex Act depiction in the very heart of their religious headquarters!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not an expert in deciphering symbols nor do I have a broad knowledge about them; so, I guess I just have to leave all this arduous figuring out to the savants. But one thing's certain St. Peter's Basilica is rife with symbolism and there are really creepy, weird, mysterious, dark and twisty things going on behind those seemingly sacred walls.

Ultimate Pinay Celebrity Crush

Saturday, December 11, 2010 0
Since I arrived here in Manila, I've been waiting for this day to come-- to meet/see in person my ultimate Pinay celebrity crush, no less than the Ultimate Multimedia Star,Toni Gonzaga-- and last Saturday(December 4,2010), that day was brought to life.
After hearing that she's gonna have a mall show at Robinsons Metro East, I got elated since Robinsons is just 15minutes away from our place. Moreover, there's no reason for me not to catch her.
My punctuality was 'on-duty' that day; I arrived early at the mall so I took some time strolling around. As usual, celebrities and organizers are as "Filipino time" as they could be. The show which purportedly started at 4:00pm, began at six.

Toni just sang three songs: Tik Tok by Kesha, All Me (the carrier single of her album) and... I actually forgot the other one.
After the performance, they immediately proceeded to the 'Meet-and-Greet' portion. I did not avail the service since I'm really a bit of a miser. Three hundred fifty pesos for a chance to have Toni's autograph and picture taken with her is worth it; but still, I don't wanna spend that much. Seeing her one meter away (or probably less) is already enough.
OH TONI! Now, I love you even more.

A Campaign to Stop Violence against Children

Sunday, December 5, 2010 0
Just last week, a fad for a cause started on facebook. Almost everyone changed their human profile pictures into their favorite cartoon characters. I changed mine to Dexter then changed it again to Mojo Jojo but I'm not evil like Mojo Jojo; one of my high school friends just said that it suits me 'cause I'm a monkey. Well, that's actually how they tease me in high school because of my surname Ong; and when you add 'goy' it becomes Onggoy. I don't take the pun seriously; I realize I'm too handsome to become a monkey. (ha-ha).
Going back to the topic, here's a hilarious-turned-sappy video about the campaign:

I never experienced getting violated as a child. I pretty much had a colorful childhood but I know how it feels to have your supposedly happy childhood taken away from you. That's just one of the worst things in this mad, mad world.

PS. The song used in this video really gave me goosebumps-- Concrete Angel by Martina McBride

ONE OF SHOWTIME'S BEST

This Gymnastics Group from Laoag really rocked Showtime last week. I wasn't able to catch it live but luckily, it was posted on YouTube.
WOW!

The beginning of their performance wasn't that exciting; but when it reached the highlights, everyone was awed.  Nerve-wracking stunts (one after another) resulted to the crowd/Madlang Pipol's howls and cheers. This group definitely has a niche in the grand finals.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious indeed!

CHUNKS OF CAVEAT AND REMINDER TO THE #lottowinner by Ralph Ong

Tuesday, November 30, 2010 0
With great wealth comes grave threats.
With great wealth comes extreme but short-lived happiness.
With great wealth comes hunger for more and more and more.
And don’t forget that with great wealth comes great responsibility.

The advantage of winning: You are now rich.
The disadvantage:You’ll now be living in fear and paranoia.
—————————————
Always watch your back; ill-conscienced people might be lurking behind you.

You can splurge but please use most of your prize wisely.

Don’t let your money eat you up. Don’t lose track of who you are and become a soulless greedy douche.

When blessings are abused, they become terrifying curses.

TWO OF MY FAVORITE TV COMMERCIALS

Sunday, November 28, 2010 1

Lucky Me! Instant Mami "Magnifico" TVC

Child enters the house... sobbing...
"Twelve lang ang napili sa try out! *sobs* pang-thirteen ako!"
"Practice ako ng practice!! HUHUHUHU! May uniform na ako! HUHUHU! Naaaaaaayyyy!"
--Mom says something about "Lucky Me!"---
Mom: Anong sabi ng nanay?
Child: NEVER SAY DIE. (sips the soup)
Mom: Ano pa?
Child: TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY!
--The child joins a declamation contest--
THE END

Way back in high school, this was a huge hit in our class. My classmates used to say the lines "Never say die" and "Tomorrow is another day" every time one of us felt depressed about our studies and our life in general. It's not just a TVC filled with charm and cuteness but a TVC about positivity/optimism and determination.

Nestea "OK" TVC

Nicos enters the house...
Mom: Oh bakit? Teka. Teka. (shaking a pitcher with Nestea)
          Sige anak ibuhos mo lng.
Nicos: Binasted ako ni Mattina, THROUGH TEXT!
Sabi niya, "You and I were KINDRED SPIRITS."
Nicos' sister: KINDRED SPIRITS?!
Nicos: Konti na lang... SOULMATES na 'yon!
Hmmmm! 'yong ilong naman niya... TO THE LEFT TO THE LEFT!
           Although ang smile niya..... MERON!
Pero ang puso niya.... WALA! WALA SIYANG PUSO!
ITO! *while smashing the flowers* PINAG-IPUNAN KO PA SA MALIIT KONG
          ALLOWANCE!
         but that's another issue.
Nicos' Sister: 'Wawa naman Nicos. ahaha!
Dad: shhhh.
Mom: Halika. Hug kita.
Siblings: Ahhhhh! Basted.
THE END

This TVC had a strong appeal among the youth. Aside from the mojo of the commercial models, there are quotable tag lines which one will never get tired of repeating. I specifically love "'yong ilong naman niya... TO THE LEFT TO THE LEFT!" and "but that's another issue"--'cause these lines sound funny-- but I guess for most of us the SMP-Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko is the biggest hit and thus, the most phenomenal. And of course, who could forget the Kindred Spirits? I never heard people use 'kindred spirits' before but now a lot are getting fond of it. Probably the courtship theme also helped in making this TVC popular esp. the part when one gets dumped and is ridiculed by his friends or worse, siblings. That really hurts.
In a way, the ad also speaks of a mom's love for her child which is likened to Nestea, BOTTOMLESS. It is always a relief to know that your mom is there to guide and help you in any ordeal.
"Kaya sige. Ibuhos mo lang."

BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA

Saturday, November 27, 2010 0
I was smiling the whole time while watching this movie. I really find chihuahuas cute. And what made this movie extra-entertaining was the lead chihuahua, Chloe (whose voice was dubbed by no less than *clap-clap-clap* Drew Barrymore), and of course, her corazon, Papi. LOL. I like saying the words 'mi corazon,' Spanish words which mean 'my love.' That was Papi's endearment for Chloe. In the beginning, Chloe kept on snubbing Papi but in the end, she realized that Papi is also her 'mi corazon'-- what a happy ending for a "puppy love."

I'm not really that much of a dog lover but I love movies with dogs as lead stars. I guess that if  dogs talk in real life I would totally love them. My mom's kind of a dog-lover so we always had a pack of these tamed wolves in our house. Most of our dogs are Japanese Spitz/Poodle but two of them look like chihuahuas.

Going back to the movie... another reason why I loved this movie is our chihuahua-like dogs' great resemblance to Chloe and Papi. I seriously think that our dogs are victims of mutation. OMG this is a scientific discovery. LOL. Just kidding. But who knows, right? Maybe they really mutated since instead of being medium-sized furry animals they turned into petite short-haired creatures. I'm also thinking that they might have chihuahua ancestors or maybe they have a 'chihuahua gene' in them. But those are just my theories.

Like any other movies, this movie also had a bunch of qoutable quotes. And the one I posted above is my favorite.
"I may be small.... but I am fighting for something bigger than all of you."

EPIC! This line is full of courage. And that's exactly what I need right now.

ALL ABOUT STEVE

'All About Steve' is not really a great movie but I had fun watching it. Sandra Bullock portrays the role of Mary Horowitz, a geek and a cruciverbalist of a local newspaper.

cru·ci·ver·bal·ist

n.
1. A constructor of crosswords.
2. An enthusiast of word games, especially of crosswords.

In this scene, there conversation was like going nowhere. And I loved how Mary Horowitz was so nonchalant and witty with her responses.

I really laughed at this though it might be corny for other people.

I was dumbfounded when she said the words plica semilunaris secretions. I never heard them before. Oh well, when translated in Filipino, I guess it's muta. Plica semilunaris secretions might come in handy someday or maybe everyday since it is highly applicable. For instance, while talking to a friend I'll say, "Hey! You have plica semilunaris secretions on your eyes." and maybe he or she'll be like:
