This is a video from 'Juana Change' that (sort of) caught the public's attention.
I must admit that I share the same sentiments with Juana Change and her crew. I am really disappointed with P-Noy, his elitist ways, his unwise and absolutely not 'MAKAMASA' decisions--MRT/LRT and PUJ fare hikes plus Budget cuts on SUCs plus planned privatization of MRT-- what more does he want to take away from the public? He really has not yet done anything quite remarkable to please every Juan dela Cruz. Instead, he's giving students, moreover, activists serious headaches and worse, fiery clamors that are left unanswered/ignored or probably just smirked at. Clearly, his inner beast is gradually being unleashed. He's not the bright, sunshiny person we thought he was. He's not a Harbinger of hope and change which most of us attached to his name. He's dark and twisty. Yet another voracious politician is on the loose.
Quotable quotes from the video(taken from Spot.PH):
"Ke thirdhand, ke secondhand, firsthand nating binigay sa kanya ang posisyon niya bilang pangulo ng Pilipinas. Aba ang sabi niya, bayan muna bago ang sarili." ("Whether it's thirdhand or secondhand, we gave him his position as President of the Philippines firsthand. He said, 'Country first before oneself.'")
"Ang boss niya ay nagugutom. Naghihikahos. Naghihirap. Wala akong ilusyon na maghirap din siya. Ngunit inaasahan natin na siya ay makikiramay sa kanyang mga boss sa pamamaraang angkop–ang mamuhay ng simple at maging sensitibo sa kalagayan ng taumbayan." ("His bosses are starving, struggling and getting poorer. I am not saying that he should be struggling too. But at the very least, we expect him to empathize with his bosses in a way that is appropriate–by living simply and being sensitive to the plight of his people.")
-This one is my favorite:
"Uy kayo naman! Intindihin niyo naman. Nakaka-stress nga naman 'yong wala ka pang nagagawa sa dami ng kailangan gawin, hindi ba?" ("Come on, you should understand. It's so stressful having done nothing when there is much to do.")
We all Juana Change. Unfortunately, THE change we've been looking for is not yet within our reach. The so-called "Daang Matuwid" presented with the most deceiving packaging during the elections is as crooked as a scoundrel's brain. Five more years is ahead of us. Let's just hope that things will get better.
